TDP govt violating NREGS norms

YSRCP Panchayati Raj Wing state president Vennapusa Ravindra Reddy

Tadepalli, Feb 13:YSRCP Panchayati Raj Wing state president Vennapusa Ravindra Reddy slammed the coalition government for violating NREGS norms by bypassing local bodies and awarding works to contractors, depriving laborers of their livelihood.

He noted that despite a High Court ruling against contractor involvement in NREGS, the state government continues to ignore directives. On February 17, Monday on grievance cell day, YSRCP leaders will visit all District Collectorate offices across the state and submit representation letters urging the implementation of the High Court verdict. They will also request officials to approve only those works that have been passed through resolutions made by the respective village sarpanches.

Ravindra Reddy criticized the lack of rural development under the current government, accusing it of failing to secure central funds and misusing existing resources. He also stated that Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan has become a mere follower of Chandrababu Naidu, overlooking these violations.

YSRCP remains committed to safeguarding NREGS funds and ensuring they benefit the intended workforce.
