Security lapses, bias against YS Jagan

Tadepalli, April 10: YSRCP official spokesperson and former MP Gorantla Madhav strongly criticised the coalition government for compromising the security of YSRCP president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. He alleged a deliberate conspiracy to harm YS Jagan by weakening his Z+ category security, despite intelligence reports indicating a high threat perception.
Madhav pointed out that YS Jagan draws massive crowds during his visits, and it is the duty of the police to ensure crowd control and safety. However, during his recent visit to Ramagiri, there was a complete breakdown in security. There were no guards at the helipad, no metal detectors at Lingamayya’s house, and police presence was diverted elsewhere—mainly towards the residence of TDP MLA Paritala Sunitha.
He condemned Home Minister Anitha’s statement about deploying 1,100 police personnel, stating that those forces were used to block YSRCP workers rather than protect YS Jagan. Madhav accused the government of plotting a mid-route attack by forcing YS Jagan to abandon air travel.
Drawing comparisons, he questioned how Minister Nara Lokesh receives Z+ security with CRPF cover while YS Jagan’s security is being intentionally diluted. He demanded that full Z+ protection be reinstated without delay.
Madhav also criticised the conduct of Ramagiri SI, who he claimed acted like a TDP worker rather than a law enforcement officer. He recounted an incident where YSRCP worker Mutyalu’s house was attacked with stones, but instead of filing a case, the SI allegedly took away the evidence and later framed the victims with planted weapons. Such police bias, Madhav said, has led to rising violence and even loss of life in the region.
He called for democratic forces to condemn the attacks on YSRCP workers and warned that officers siding with political vendettas would be held accountable.
