*Naidu govt hiding truth in Dr Priyanka case: YSRCP*

Rajahmundry, August 11: Former MP Margani Bharat said the coalition government was trying to suppress the truth in the death of Dr Priyanka, who was run over by a car in Rajahmundry, and demanded a CBI inquiry into the entire episode.
Speaking at the YSRCP office, Bharat questioned where those responsible were between August 3, when the incident occurred, and August 6, when their arrest was shown. He demanded disclosure of who sheltered them, their call data that night, and CCTV footage tracing their movement after leaving Prasad Aditya Mall. He asked why police initially treated such a brutal incident as a minor accident and registered only sections carrying station bail until YSRCP raised the issue.
Bharat questioned how the local MLA declared it a hit-and-run case within 24 hours and why the MLA, DSP, CI and even the Chief Minister projected the same narrative. He demanded an explanation on the charge that the local MLA tried to protect those involved and asked why Prakash Nagar CI faced no action despite defending engineering college pass-outs as “students” and handling the victim’s father in civil dress.
He also questioned why YSRCP’s social media posts on the case were sent to Meta for deletion and asked the government to identify what was undemocratic in the content.
Comparing the incident to the Nirbhaya and Abhaya cases, Bharat asked why the Chief Minister and Home Minister remained silent until Priyanka’s father came onto the road seeking justice. He urged Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and KTR to intervene, as Priyanka belonged to Gadwal.
Bharat said Rs. 20 lakh compensation could not close a brutal death case. He demanded a CBI probe, a separate inquiry into the Prakash Nagar CI, a high-level committee and immediate intervention by the Women’s Commission, warning that YSRCP would approach the High Court if necessary and take the matter to former CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for a sustained fight for justice.
