No Escape on DSC in Council: Botcha

Tadepalli, August 12: Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Botcha Satyanarayana said the YSRCP would confront the coalition government in the Council over the Mega DSC–2025 irregularities and demanded a comprehensive debate, a CBI investigation and the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh.
Speaking after a meeting of YSRCP MLCs and MLAs chaired by former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the party office, Botcha said the government must answer why no serious investigation was conducted even after phone conversations surfaced showing negotiations involving lakhs of rupees for DSC posts. “Who demanded the money, who was contacted and where were these negotiations conducted? The government cannot evade these questions,” he said. YSRCP would place Government Orders, call recordings, merit lists and other documentary evidence before the Council and demand answers on every irregularity.
Botcha said the government’s claims on DSC were completely disconnected from developments on the ground. He also said the Council would raise the severe distress among farmers, lack of clarity on input subsidy and crop insurance, the burden shifted onto farmers, the controversial PPP policy, absence of PRC for employees and unresolved grievances of employee associations. He demanded that YSRCP, which secured around 40% of the vote, be granted its rightful Opposition status in the Assembly.
MLC Mondithoka Arun Kumar said YSRCP had organised 12 forms of protest over the past 70 days and would expose the Sports Quota recruitment with evidence in the Council. He said 469 Sports Quota posts were sold, and reiterated the demand for Lokesh’s resignation and a third-party CBI probe.
Arun Kumar said BC leaders including Seediri Appalaraju, Virupakshi, Tammineni Sitaram and Jogi Ramesh were being targeted with cases, while serious law-and-order incidents would also be raised in the Council. He said farmers were suffering without remunerative prices, junior doctors and employees were agitating, and students and unemployed youth were facing severe hardship. YSRCP will intensify its agitation from August 17 until accountability is fixed and justice is delivered.
