Law & order collapsed in AP under Chandrababu’s coalition rule: Botcha

Velagapudi, Feb 24: Legislative Council Opposition Leader Botcha Satyanarayana, along with YSRCP MLCs, slammed the coalition government for the total collapse of law and order in Andhra Pradesh since it assumed power. He declared that robberies, atrocities, murders and crimes against women have skyrocketed, pushing the state to the bottom in Central Home Ministry surveys on peace and security.
Botcha accused Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of running an administration devoid of integrity and accountability, where governance has been replaced by diversion politics. He pointed out that the police system, ranked No.1 in the country during the YSRCP regime, has now sunk to the lowest position. “Whenever we raise the issue of deteriorating law and order, the coalition diverts the debate by talking about the YSR regime. Coalition leaders have no moral right to criticise the iconic governance of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy,” he thundered.
The YSRCP leader exposed rampant corruption that has seeped down to the lowest levels, alleging that both “Chinnababu” and “Pedababu” are systematically looting the state through commissions. He strongly refuted Somu Veerraju’s remarks, stating that during five years of YS Jagan’s rule, Prime Minister Narendra Modi faced no inconvenience whatsoever.
Citing the Rajahmundry spurious liquor tragedy as a glaring example of governmental failure, Botcha questioned why no official has been penalised even after five deaths and hundreds hospitalised. He warned that criminals now operate with complete impunity because the government has institutionalised corruption and removed the fear of punishment. “The coalition leaders shamelessly sing ‘good governance’ hymns in the Assembly while the state burns,” he said.
Botcha condemned the regime for harassing those who question it under the pretext of the “Red Book Constitution” and for registering cases against victims instead of the accused. He concluded that the coalition government has completely abdicated its responsibility towards public administration and the people of Andhra Pradesh.
