YS Jagan Will Be Next CM Of AP

India Today TV channel declared on the basis of a survey

Amaravati: India Today TV channel declared on the basis of a survey that Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly and YSR Congress party president, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will become the next chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. India today revealed the results of its survey in its latest Political Stock Exchange programme. The survey takes into account mood of the voters and changing political conditions in a dynamic situation leading to the elections.

Based on extensive information sought from the public in its survey, Rahul Kanwal, a senior journalist from the group, brought into discussion some interesting highlights in his live show on Monday.  In a recent survey conducted by India Today, the question posed to the people was—who would you like to see as your chief minister? 45% of the respondents voted in favour of YS Jagan, while 36% voted in incumbent Chief Minister Chandrababu‘s favour. There was a 2% rise in YS Jagan‘s popularity now compared to a similar survey conducted in September 2018. Conversely, there was a 2% drop in Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu‘s graph. As things stand, the Leader of Opposition is a clear 9% ahead in the eyes of the people compared to the Chief Minister.

The survey also revealed that in 2014 elections the principal adversaries were the YSR Congress party and TDP. Another fact which emerged was that people wanting to see Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan as the chief minister were getting fewer in number.

The survey stated that compared to Chandrababu Naidu, YS Jagan was 9% ahead. This can be interpreted as YS Jagan being perceived as a people’s person, said analysts on the show. Moreover, while YS Jagan was seen as an inheritor of Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy‘s legacy in 2014, now additionally he is being seen as a strong leader who has come into his own and can provide able leadership to the state. Clearly, in public perception he has grown in stature and popularity, Rahul Kanwal and analysts on the show said. They pointed out that YS Jagan‘s 14 month long Padayatra helped him reach out and connect with people across the state of Andhra Pradesh in a big way.

It was also pointed out that just as Dr YSR’s Padayatra across the length and breadth of Andhra Pradesh in 2003 helped the Congress party come to power, dislodge Chandrababu Naidu and importantly, helped the UPA form a coalition in 2004, similarly  YS Jagan‘s Padayatra would help him in dethroning Chandrababu Naidu in the upcoming elections in the state.
