March 25, 2013: Hundred
days have passed since Smt. Y.S. Sharmila began her Maro Praja Prasthanam
Padayatra from Idupulapaya in YSR district on Oct 18, 2012 on behalf of the YSR
Congress Party chief Sri Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. But, even after completing a
distance of 1375.4 km in the last 100 days, one will still find in her a
hundred times of the day-one enthusiasm and energy to lead the Padayatra further
to reach the stated 3000-km mark.
Smt. Sharmila, who has addressed
countless public meetings and interacted with people at her innumerable
Rachchabanda programmes as she walked through a string of villages and hamlets during
the course of the Padayatra, looks
determined and vibrant to go ahead with her walkathon despite the threat of
simmering heat hanging over her head. Sharmila has so far visited 750 villages
in 43 assembly constituencies of seven districts.
During her Padayatra,
people were thrilled to see her and shake hands with her as she walked in their
villages. They were enthused to get promises on the implementation of YSR
welfare schemes as she addressed them at roadside and impromptu public
meetings. Across the length and breadth of the Padayatra in YSR, Anantapur,
Kurnool, Mahabubnagar, Ranga Reddy and Guntur districts, she rekindled the
confidence of the people as she tried to inject a sense of hope about their
future.
Despite the recent key-hole
surgery to her leg and the occasional pain it has been giving, Smt. Sharmila is
keeping up the walking schedules and is still brimming with confidence to go
ahead in her mission of exposing the Congress-TDP conspiracy and the CBI’s
delaying tactics in filing the final charge sheet in Sri Jagan Mohan Reddy
case.
Smt. Sharmila will
enter the Krishna district on Tuesday after completing her Padayatra in Guntur
district.
