*Provide fertilizers on time in a practical manner: YSRCP*

Tadepalli, June 16: YSRCP has demand that fertilizer be promptly supplied on time without any hindrance and ahead of the agriculture season.
Speaking to media here on Tuesday, Party General Secretary MVS Nagai Reddy said, in wake of previous experience of urea shortage, the government is stating that it would bring out an App which will monitor and provide urea and fertilizers to farmers on time.
This is not a practical approach as major chunk of the lands is being cultivated by tenant farmers and the App which may not give the desired results as the software registers the name of the land owner and not the tenant farmer.  If the government wants to promote organic farming, it has to demonstrate to the farmers but should not make statements belittling the farming pattern being followed by farmers.
The government instead of going on a technical mode, should think in a practical manner and supply the fertilizers to the tilling farmer. During the previous season urea was sold at a premium and that flaw should not be repeated and all tilling farmers should get fertilizers in the desired quantity.
The government should also provide quality seeds before sowing season and farmers now need paddy and groundnut seeds. Despite tall claims, there is no sufficient stock and disbursement of seeds in the state and farmers are in distress.
During YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government, quality seeds were provided to farmers at RBKs along with fertilizers and other agriculture needs.
The price of tobacco has been falling down drastically and there is not action from the government side.  Of late, the Totapari mango farmers are facing crisis as they are unable to sell their produce. Juice companies are buy the product at Rs 6 per kg while what should be paid is Rs 20 per kg.
The input subsidy is not given and crop insurance was done away with. Only those farmers who take agriculture loan have paid premium as it is mandatory and others are left in the lurch. Though there was bounty crop in Rabi, farmers  did not benefit, he said.
Horticulture has been the strength of Rayalaseema and the State talking of making it Horticulture hub is ridiculous,  he said.
