The successive GOs issued by the State Government and the methodology Congress Party is employing against Sakshi media group and YS Jaganmohan Reddy only shows the desperate attempt to stop further exodus from its party and such tactics will only be counterproductive, YSR Congress party has said.
“The State government has been issuing GOs attacking the financial stability of the Sakshi media house and such a move will draw people closer to our party and the CBI investigation is going in a single-minded path targeting YS Jaganmohan Reddy,” party spokesperson Roja told reporters here on Saturday.
The quick succession and the deftness and pace at which the GOs are issued only speak of how desperate the Congress is ahead of the June 12 by-polls, she said and questioned the moral authority of Sabita Indra Reddy, who is signatory to the controversial GOs, to issue GOs against Sakshi media group.
First it was freezing of accounts, then it was the ban on advertisements, next it was the GO on attachment of properties. This shows that the State is scared of Sakshi and YS Jaganmohan Reddy, she said. Scuttle the voice of Sakshi to stall the growth of Jagan has been the strategy of Congress but this will be counterproductive, she said.
Only after the investigation is complete will a person be proved as guilty or otherwise, but here CBI is first calling a person guilty and then going ahead with the investigation as per the guidelines of the Congress. Wearing blinkers it is able to see only YS Jaganmohan Reddy and its approach will be questioned by the people in the final battle, she said.
The CBI should first establish if there is a quid pro quo in the case and then question the persons who issued the 26 GOs. The concerned ministers and bureaucrats were not questioned. Without following the normal procedure, CBI has been going ahead as per the directives of the Congress Party, which is in jitters after seeing the groundswell of support to YS Jaganmohan Reddy, she said.
All these allegations and false propaganda will not affect the prospects of YSR Congress Party and our leader YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s popularity will grow with every desperate move of the Congress. Jagan was never in Government nor was he in a position to issue GOs.
Many allegations were also leveled by TDP against YSR during the 2009 elections. People did not believe them and gave a verdict that has shown Chandrababu Naidu his place. The same thing will be happening now as well, Roja said.
