Guntur: YSR Congress Party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy assured the Washermen community of resolving all their problems once his party assumed power in Andhra Pradesh.
A delegation of the Washermen called on YS Jagan, who is currently touring in Guntur as part of his historic Praja Sankalpa Yatra, and submitted a memorandum to him in Guntur district. They are demanding to include their community in SC category by constituting an expert committee. The other important demand they put before the YSR Congress leader distribution of Rs 2,500 pension to all above 45 age.
Establishment of separate Gurukulams for the children of Washermen community, construction of Dhobi Ghats and use of modern equipment in their traditional occupations were among the important demands. YS Jagan responded positively to their demands.
