Vizianagaram: Senior leader of the YSR Congress party (YSRCP) Botsa Satyanarayana today said that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) government's primary focus was to loot public resources. Speaking at a meeting with the YSRCP leaders here today, he said that the local minister Sujay Krishna Ranga Rao joined the TDP to safeguard his commercial interests. He added that former Union minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju had done nothing for the benefit of the district. He asked if the former minister ever spoke in demand for the Special Category Status.
Botsa said that it was Ashok Gajapathi Raju who had spoken in support of the State's bifurcation during a meeting with former Chief Minister K Rosaiah. Adding that the former minister accepted bribes in return for allotting the Bhogapuram Airport works to private companies, he questioned the TDP's motive behind joining hands with the Congress after being at loggerheads with each other.
"We have brought JNTU, Andhra University, degree and junior colleges to the town. What did the TDP leaders do for the region's welfare? The State government could not complete the Ramatheertha Sagar project, which was begun in Congress rule. Chandrababu could not carry out the auction of Agrigold properties because he could not strike a deal with the private companies," he observed.
The senior leader said that Leader of Opposition in AP Assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would soon enter the district after marching across 11 districts. If elected to power, YS Jagan would implement people-friendly welfare schemes, he added.
Botsa remarked that the district would witness history as YS Jagan would reach the 3,000 kilometer landmark in the Vizianagaram.
