Supreme Court questions Jagan's arrest
14 Sep 2012 6:02 AM

The CBI’s hastiness in arresting the YSR Congress president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in
the assets case has been questioned by the Supreme Court.
Giving
scope to the theories that Jagan’s arrest was a conspiracy hatched by the
Congress and the CBI, the apex court asked the CBI counsel as to why Jagan was
arrested when he was cooperating with the investigating agencies in the cases
registered against him.
The
court made these comments when the bail petition of Jagan came up for hearing
today. Further hearing of the case has been posted to Sep 28.
The
YSR Congress has been from the very beginning arguing that the cases foisted
against Jagan were false and do not stand legal scrutiny. “It is a conspiracy
of the Congress which used the CBI to implicate Jagan in the case,” the party
averred several times.
