Rayalaseema Deprived of River Krishna Water in Chandrababu govt

YSR Kadapa: YSR Congress party has conducted a big dharna  at Mydukur cross roads demanding the Andhra Pradesh government to release water from river Krishna immediately to fetch drinking water  and irrigation needs of the drought hit Rayalaseema districts.   

YSR Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy and MLAs - Amjad Bhasha,  Raachamallu Shivaprasad and district party unit President  A Amaranth Reddy participated in the dharna. The leaders alleged Chandrababu Naidu did not release water from Srisailam even as the reservoir water level cross 865 feet. As per the norms, water should be released to Rayalaseema projects when the water levels reached 854 feet.

Instead of  releasing water, the AP government utilised inflows for power generation . As a result, the Rayalaseema districts were deprived of  irrigation and drinkign water in the ongoing kharif season,  Avinash Reddy  alleged that the TDP government neglected the drought hit region on all fronts.  He threatened to intensify the agitation for the release of water if the governmetn did not respond .
