Tadepalli, June 29: YSRCP State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has called upon party leaders, Booth Level Agents (BLAs) and grassroots workers to remain on maximum alert during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and ensure that not a single genuine vote is deleted. Addressing a teleconference with district party presidents, Sajjala reviewed the party’s strategy on the SIR process and directed the organisation to intensify monitoring at every polling booth.
Sajjala stated that numerous complaints are being received regarding attempts to target YSRCP voters during the SIR exercise. He said information has emerged that in several places enumeration forms are being marked as distributed without actually reaching voters, while ruling party leaders are exerting pressure on officials to facilitate the deletion of YSRCP votes. He cautioned that there could be attempts to remove 40 to 50 votes in every polling booth and instructed BLAs and booth-level leaders to remain vigilant throughout the revision process.
He further stated that voters working in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai and other cities for employment are particularly vulnerable to being classified as “not available” and removed from the electoral rolls. Every such voter must be identified and protected, he said, adding that safeguarding genuine votes is the foremost responsibility of the party. “We must protect our own votes. Not a single genuine voter should disappear from the electoral rolls,” he asserted.
Sajjala instructed party leaders to closely monitor the conduct of the SIR exercise, immediately report any lack of cooperation or irregularities by officials to senior party leaders, and simultaneously submit complaints to the respective District Collectors. He directed district presidents to convene meetings with constituency in-charges, coordinate closely with the SIR task force, strengthen war rooms and control rooms in every constituency, pay special attention to urban areas, and ensure that daily reports and worksheets are submitted to the party’s central war room in Tadepalli for continuous monitoring and timely intervention.
