*Heritage must prove product quality*

Tadepalli, July 7: YSRCP State Spokesperson Karumuri Venkata Reddy on Tuesday demanded that Heritage Foods prove its products are fresh, safe and of good quality after receiving notices from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI). Speaking to the media at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, he said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu should answer the questions raised over the quality of products sold by his family's company.

Karumuri said FSSAI had recently issued notices to Heritage Foods over violations of food safety standards in its paneer products. He recalled that the company had also received notices in the past over the quality of its curd products and had admitted to paying the penalty imposed by the food safety authority. He said the company must clearly explain these violations and assure consumers that its products meet all quality standards.

He alleged that Heritage was also causing environmental pollution by dumping waste from its dairy plant into the Musi canal without proper treatment. Such practices, he said, were affecting water quality and harming aquatic life. He questioned why the coalition government was extending financial incentives to a company facing such issues.

Karumuri further alleged that the government had granted Heritage Foods incentives worth nearly Rs.59.69 crore for its proposed project in Tirupati despite the company stating that it would generate only 35 jobs. He demanded a transparent inquiry into the quality of Heritage products and the environmental issues linked to the company.

He also criticised Minister Nara Lokesh's repeated foreign visits, saying they had failed to bring significant investments to Andhra Pradesh. He questioned the government's claims on investment promotion and said the people deserved transparency and accountability.
