Naidu used UF Govt to escape CBI probe

Hyderabad,
December 15: In wake of the former CBI Director, US Mishra’s claim that the
investigation agency has to yield to political pressure, YSR Congress has said
that N Chandrababu Naidu has benefited by extending support to the United
Front and NDA government and was left unscathed in various scams and serious
charges.

Though
there were allegations against Chandrbabu Naidu in the past, from Telgi’s
stamps scam to Tehalka’s startling revelations, he was untouched by the CBI as
he played a key role in the Central politics by extending support., Naidu on
his part did not work for the interests of the State but had put his personal
interests on top,” YSRCP MLA G Sreekanth Reddy told reporters here on Saturday.

Though he
has been boasting of integrity and being the influential person during his nine
year term as Chief Minster from 1995, he did not bring a single project to the
State as he was working to further his personal and business interests by
extending support to the Centre, he said adding that he was a mute spectator
when upper riparian States were building dams throttling river water flow to
our State..

“Be it IK
Gujral, Deve Gowda or AB Vajpayee, Naidu had his own personal agenda and as US
Mishra had commented that CBI will be under pressure from politicians, he
managed to see that he is not named even in a single case, “Reddy said.

While his
party ministers and MLAs were arrested in the Telgi stamps scam case, his name
did not figure nor was he questioned. When Tehalka had named Chandrababu Naidu
as on of the richest politicians with high influence having properties in Malaysia,
Singapore
and other places, there
was no Disproportionate Assets case was registered against him.

When we
correlate the US Mishra’s remarks and Naidu’s track record everything will fall
in place, Sreekanth Reddy said adding that truth will come out one day or the
other.

“YS Jagan
Mohan Reddy stood for truth and we knew that there would be pressure from the
Government and the proceedings went according to the familiar script. We firmly
believe that our leader will come out clean as the charges leveled are false
and concocted,” he said.

If Naidu
wants to prove his innocence, he should volunteer for a probe and clear all the
charges he is facing, he said.

When asked
about Telangana, he said, as per Article 3, the Centre is empowered to carve
out a new state by itself, but the Congress without spelling out its stand has
called for an All Party Meeting which shows that it is not serious on the
issue.

The
Congress should make clear its stand first, he demanded.
