Naidu unfit to be Opp Leader : Sharmila

Guntur, March 7,
2013:  Lambasting the Congress Government
for its inefficient administration in the state, Smt. Y. S. Sharmila said
people from all walks of life are suffering with Government throwing away to
the winds the people’s welfare.

Addressing a largely
attended public meeting at Narsaraopet in Guntur district during the course of
her Maro Praja Prasthanam Padayatra on Wednesday, she said farmers were the
worst sufferers of the Government’s negligence.

“Farmers are being
denied Minimum Support Price (MSP), power, irrigation water and seeds. Vagaries
of nature are also adding to their woes and forcing the debt-ridden farmers to
commit suicides,” she told the gathering, adding that TDP chief Chandrababu
Naidu has been persistently refusing to introduce no-confidence motion against
the anti-people Congress Government.

Chandrababu, who has no
avocation except for leveling baseless allegations against the YSR family
members, had abundantly proved he was an inefficient CM and is also unfit to be
the leader of the opposition, she said.

Describing Chandrababu
as a bad chief minister, Smt. Sharmila said that he intentionally refused to
release water for agriculture purposes from the Nagarjuna Sagar Ayacut when he
was the CM despite availability of abundant water.  “When farmers requested Naidu to release water,
he chided them for irrigating crops in the Rabi season and sent them away,”
Smt. Sharmila said.

She said Naidu has
celebrated completion of 2000-km of his Padayatra but has been sparing no time
to think of people’s problems and introduce no-confidence motion. “Only Chandrababu
is benefiting from the Congress Government which is enjoying his support. The
Government is of no use to the people,” Smt. Sharmila remarked.
