Hyderabad: The Praja Sankalpa Yatra of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been rolling like a colossus on the political canvas of the state sending jitters in the spine of Chandrababu Naidu and his TDP which has been tried to dub the mass contact programme as a normal walkathon unmindful of the flow of the current of dissent against the ruling party and the groundswell of support to the Leader of Opposition, YSR Congress has said.
Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday party spokesperson Ambati Rambabu said, the mass contact programme will complete 200 days(June 27) of the odyssey covering over 2,430 km covering ten districts and people have been swelling with every passing day while the ruling party, scared of being blown away into oblivion, has been trying to deride the effect of the Praja Sankalpa Yatra while the reality shows otherwise and milling crowds have been extending tumultuous support to YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The Padayatra has been historic as no one had taken up such a course so far but for the family of the YSR, who began with Prajaprasthanam followed by Maro Prajaprasthanam by YS Sharmila and now our Party President has embarked on the same route.
TDP has tried its best to bring down the effect of the Yatra by engineering defections whenever our leader was set to cross a milestone. Though it could give some temporary satisfaction, it could not stand the flooding support the Yatra was getting and they had finally given up.
They even made a false propaganda that the Krishna barrage would be damaged while YS Jagan Mohan with his large following was crossing the Prakasam Barrage and the sea of humanity had shaken up the very foundations of the Chandrababu Naidu government when the bridge over River Godavari was overflowing with a multitude of people, he said.
Such tricks had no effect and proved to be counterproductive and every effort to dilute the effect of the Yatra had boomeranged.
The Navaratnas announced at the Party Plenary were being well received by the people and it has created new confidence among the people who are confident that by the time Praja Sankalpa Yatra concludes at Ichapuram, it would spell doom to the TDP government as people lost their faith in Chandrababu Naidu government.
He had shared power with BJP for four years and had come out and is now searching for partners and no wonder even if he goes back to the BJP fold as he has no moral or political values. Our leader on the other hand stands by his word and the family is known to keep up the promises, he said.
