Tadepalli, July 14: Former Deputy Chief Minister Narayanaswamy slammed CM Chandrababu Naidu for neglecting farmers and using false cases to suppress dissent. Speaking at YSRCP’s Tadepalli office, he stated that Naidu is governing through deception and intimidation, betraying farmers who trusted him. “Naidu has no intention of uplifting farmers in distress,” Narayanaswamy asserted.
He contrasted Naidu’s failures with YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s legacy of providing free electricity, loan waivers, and irrigation for 25 lakh acres.YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is advancing his father’s vision, implementing initiatives like the Rs. 13,500 Rythu Bharosa input subsidy, ensuring fair prices during market slumps, and providing timely compensation during natural calamities. “Only YS Rajasekhara Reddy and his son YS Jagan have truly stood by farmers, earning their place in their hearts,” he asserted.
Narayanaswamy condemned Naidu’s government for obstructing YS Jagan’s Chittoor tour supporting Bangarupalyam mango farmers, with police issuing notices to 3,000 farmers and threatening rowdy sheets.
The government is fabricating cases to silence critics. The arrest of farmers Vinod Kumar, Mohan, Chakravarthy Naidu, and Shankaracharya in Bangarupalyam, who were detained for three days without informing their families, following baseless allegations of assault on a photographer. These farmers, belonging to SC and ST communities, were charged under non-bailable sections, including SC/ST Atrocity laws, despite being from the same communities. “How can SC/ST farmers be booked under SC/ST Atrocity laws? This is a shameful misuse of power,” he said. Narayanaswamy also noted similar false cases against YSRCP leaders Vijayananda Reddy and Dr. Sunil in Palamaner, asserting that such tactics would not intimidate the YSRCP cadre.
He concluded with a warning to Naidu: “No amount of false cases or police repression can silence the voices questioning your incompetence. The people see through your governance of vendettas and will hold you accountable.”
