*Good days for BCs only if YS Jagan returns*

Rajamahendravaram, Sep27: YSRCP leaders at the party’s BC Garjana said backward classes had been pushed into neglect under the coalition government and maintained that better days for BC communities would return only with Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s leadership.

The meeting, organised under former Minister Chelluboyina Venugopala Krishna, drew leaders and cadres from several districts. Legislative Council Opposition Leader Botsa Satyanarayana said the previous YSRCP government had given BCs greater political representation, nominated posts and welfare support, while the present coalition government had weakened or discontinued schemes benefiting fishermen, weavers, shepherds and other traditional occupational communities.

Venugopala Krishna said the coalition government had reduced BCs to a vote bank after making extensive promises during the elections. He said BC communities should unite, expose what the party described as the government’s broken promises and work to strengthen YSRCP at the grassroots.

Former Speaker Tammineni Sitaram said BC rights, representation and social justice had suffered under the present government. Former Ministers Jogi Ramesh, Dharmana Krishna Das, Seediri Appalaraju and Vidadala Rajini criticised the coalition over welfare cuts, inadequate support to BC corporations, fishermen’s issues and women’s welfare.

Former MP Margani Bharat said YSRCP’s record in education, welfare and political representation should be taken to every household. MLC and BC Cell President Ramesh Yadav said BC corporations had been reduced to nominal bodies, while former MLA Ponnada Satish demanded restoration of adequate funding and social-security measures.

The leaders said YSRCP would continue its campaign for BC welfare, political representation and protection of weaker sections. They called on BC communities to unite against what they termed the coalition government’s deceptive policies and work towards bringing YS Jagan back as Chief Minister in the next election.
