Foisting cases: Roja stages dharna in front of Puttur PS

Puttur: Nagari MLA and YSRCP leader Roja fainted while staging a dharna in front of Puttur police station in Chittoor district. Roja was staging a dharna demanding suspension of the CI and the SI for foisting cases against her. During the dharna, an exhausted Roja suddenly fainted. She was immediately treated. After she recovered, she continued with the protest.

Meanwhile, tense situation prevailed in front of the Puttur police station where Roja and a large number of YSRCP activists took part in the dharna. Local TDP leaders organized a counter dharna against Roja at the same place. They alleged that Roja had insulted the Dalits by her comments and gesticulations. This led to tension in the area.

On Friday, the general body of Puttur mandal parishad owas held. During the meeting, Roja raise the issue of loans to the SCs, STs and BCs. This led to heated argument between the YSRCP and the TDP in the meeting. Roja staged a dharna inside the meeting hall. During this time, the TDP members accused Roja of insulting the SCs. Later in the evening, a case was registered against Roja. Roja said the allegations were fake and the cases were foisted against her.
