Action sought against Srikakulam police

Hyderabad, Sept 6, 2012: A
delegation of YSR Congress party leaders today met Home Minister Sabitha Indra
Reddy here and complained about the unwarranted behavior of police towards
party leader Dharmana Krishna Das and his wife at Srikakulam recently.
The delegation, consisting of
MLAs Sobbh Nagi Reddy, Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, Srikanth Reddy, Amarnath
Reddy, Gurunath Reddy , Golla Babu Rao and Bala Raju, told the Minister that
YSRC leaders and activists are being harassed by police.
Seeking strong disciplinary
action against the Srikakulam police for their indecent behavior against
Krishna Das and his wife Padma Priya on the eve of the recent state bandh, the
delegation warned it would launch an agitation if no action was taken against
the police.
It may be recalled police
dragged Padma Priya on the road and forcibly made her sit in the police jeep
while she was busy organizing the bandh. Later, Krishna Das had a scuffle with
the police in which he injured his fingers.
“We demanded immediate action against
the Srikakulam police for their rough
behavior against our leader Krishna Das,” they later told journalists.
