Hyderabad: Minister for Transport Perni Venkataramaiah (Nani) revealed the facts regarding the irregularities done by TDP leader JC Prabhakar Reddy along with his close aids in dealing with unfit vehicles by running a fake modus operandi and slammed Chandrababu Naidu for backing up the accused.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Minister Perni Nani stated that JC brothers have committed such a heinous crime for their unlawful gain and for plying vehicles illegally risking the lives of the passengers. “They have committed multiple crimes in this scam forging the documents to create fake insurance, yet again, opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu backs them and accuses the government of taking revenge. We are ready for an open discussion with all proofs, either Naidu or Lokesh can come for it. Instead of denying the charges, Naidu is alleging illegal arrests and supporting those accused. There are many more scams that took place during the TDP regime and all those that were exposed in the last two days are a tip of an iceberg.”
In regard to the modus of Operandi, Minister said that the former MLC JC Prabhakar Reddy went against the Supreme Court orders and registered BS3 vehicles as BS4 vehicles by fabricating the documents. “As per the Supreme Court orders, all BS3 vehicles are prohibited for sale, manufacturing, and registration across the country from April 1, 2017. However, Jatadhara Industries which is owned by J C Uma Reddy wife of former TDP MLC J C Prabhakar Reddy, and their son J S Asmith Reddy along with his close associate C Gopal Reddy has purchased 154 chassis of BS3 vehicles were bought in a scrap sale from Ashok Leyland and registered them in Kohima, Andhra Pradesh and other states in 2018.”
The officials found that all the condemned vehicles were first registered with the transport registration authority at Kohima, Nagaland, and then brought to Anantapur district with a NOC from Nagaland, just a few days after registration. The vehicles were shown as latest models and BS4 compliant. In addition to faking the documents, it was also found that they have also forged the NOC and even modified four lorries as buses and plying illegally and got involved with fake insurance for the vehicles.
