Machilipatnam, Oct 27: Former Minister and YSRCP Krishna District President Perni Nani launched a scathing attack on Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan and BJP State President Madhav, demanding to know why people should vote for the ruling coalition after two-and-a-half years of betrayal, broken promises and exploitation.
Addressing the media at the YSRCP office in Machilipatnam, Perni Nani challenged the coalition to explain how many of its 143 election promises had been fulfilled. He questioned the failure to implement the Rs. 1,500 monthly Aadabidda Nidhi, Rs. 4,000 pensions for BCs and minorities above 50, and Rs. 3,000 unemployment allowance. He slammed the removal of seven lakh pensions without granting new ones.
Nani said the government had increased essential commodity prices, petrol and electricity charges despite promising relief. Rice costs Rs. 100 per kg, red gram Rs. 190, tamarind Rs. 350 and petrol exceeds Rs. 117 per litre. He ridiculed Chandrababu's claims of economic revival after borrowing nearly Rs. 4 lakh crore, calling him a “fake CM” heading an “Alibaba and two thieves” administration.
Questioning the government's claim of spending Rs. 1.5 lakh crore on rural development, he demanded village-wise expenditure details and accountability for withheld panchayat funds, unpaid statutory allocations and corruption in waste-management contracts.
Nani questioned why direct elections were introduced for municipalities but not Mandal and Zilla Parishads. He mocked Pawan Kalyan for blaming Cyclone Arnab for Jana Sena's candidate-selection failures while repeatedly sacrificing party workers' interests.
“If YSRCP is so weak, why are its candidates being threatened and prevented from filing nominations?” Nani demanded, condemning electoral intimidation and calling for transparent elections, accountability and an impartial investigation into nomination obstruction.
