Tadepalli, Nov 21: YSR Congress Party President and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy conveyed his heartfelt greetings to the “sons of the sea” on the occasion of World Fisheries Day. Taking to X platform, he saluted the courage of fisherfolk who depend on the ocean for their livelihood and battle rising waves every day to sustain their families.
Reaffirming his commitment, YS Jagan stated that during his government’s tenure, the welfare and empowerment of fisherfolk was a key priority. Major infrastructure works were initiated, including the construction of 4 ports, 10 fishing harbours, and 6 fish landing centres. He also highlighted that Rs. 4,913 crore in benefits were extended to the community through various schemes. YS Jagan assured that not just in the past but now and always, the YSR Congress Party will stand firmly by every fisher family.
