YSRCP slams Governor’s address as self-praise, lies

YSRCP MLAs Tatiparthi Chandrasekhar and Busineni Virupakshi

Tadepalli, Feb 24: YSRCP MLAs Tatiparthi Chandrasekhar and Busineni Virupakshi criticized the Chandrababu Naidu-led coalition government for its failures within nine months and accused it of fearing to grant YSRCP the rightful Opposition status.
The MLAs condemned the Governor’s address as a bundle of lies focused on self-praise and blaming the Opposition, offering no real solutions to public issues. They pointed to the state’s rising debt of Rs. 1.3 lakh crores, lack of a clear development plan, and Chandrababu’s unrealistic "Vision 2047."
The leaders highlighted the government’s failure to support farmers, with plummeting crop prices, halted input subsidies, and discontinued free crop insurance.
They also pointed to neglected sectors like healthcare and education, with pending reimbursements affecting students and hospitals.
The MLAs accused the government of merely renaming YSRCP-initiated welfare schemes without introducing new programs and using selective arrests of YSRCP leaders to divert attention from its failures. They criticized Nara Lokesh for prioritizing foreign leisure trips and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan for religious tours while ignoring the state’s problems.
Questioning the government’s fear of granting Opposition status, they reminded that YSRCP had respected democratic norms by granting it to Chandrababu Naidu during its term.
Virupakshi stressed that denying Opposition status silences public voices and undermines democracy. The government is avoiding accountability and has no respect for the Constitution or the judiciary, with the Speaker unable to explain the Opposition status issue in court.
