Vijayawada, March 13: A YSRCP delegation has met the Governor Abdul Nazeer and submitted a representation seeking his intervention as the Chandrababu Naidu led government has been showing discrimination in extending welfare on Party lines and is filing false cases on Opposition party cadre.
Speaking to media after submitting the representation here on Thursday, Party Leader in the Legislative Council Botsa Satyanarana said, the recent remarks of Chandrababu Naidu to TDP workers during his Gangadhara Nellore tour asking not to extend any benefit to YSRCP sympathisers is in clear violation of the oath he has taken before assuming office and is a blatant violation of constitutional democracy.
Beneficiaries are identified and qualified by their economic and social status and not on political affiliation and Chandarbabu Naidu’s speech is in clear violation of constitutional norms as he has openly said that YSRCP sympathisers cannot be beneficiaries of the welfare schemes.
“No one should help YSRCP. It is like feeding a snake with milk”, is the quote of Chandrababu Naidu.
Nowhere in the country did such a thing happened.
The government has also been filing false cases against YSRCP cadre indiscriminately and using police to settle political scores which is the other point we have raised in the letter, he said.
We will continue to mount pressure on the government to ensure that welfare schemes reach all the people without any discrimination.
The representation was signed by former ministers, mayors and other leaders of YSRCP.
