YSRCP condemns Govt for neglecting Anganwadi workers

N. Chandrasekhar Reddy

Tadepalli, March 11: N. Chandrasekhar Reddy, State President of the YSRCP Employees and Pensioners Wing, sharply criticized Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s government for neglecting employee welfare and failing to fulfill election promises. He condemned the harsh treatment of Anganwadi workers, noting that those traveling to Vijayawada for a dharna were forcibly removed from trains and buses.
Chandrasekhar questioned if they were being treated as "traitors to the nation" and slammed the government’s disrespectful behavior toward women, ignoring even their minor grievances. He urged the inclusion of Anganwadi workers in government schemes, contrasting this with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s tenure, when their salaries rose to Rs. 11,500, and fulfill all the promises, and asked why their struggles are overlooked by Naidu.
Chandrasekhar accused the government of disregarding the Pay Revision Commission (PRC), Interim Relief (IR), and the promise to resolve Anganwadi issues within 100 days, despite ongoing protests. He cited the suicide of Fatima, an Anganwadi worker from Palnadu, driven by coalition leaders’ threats, underscoring Jagan’s support for small-scale employees versus the current regime’s harassment.
Labeling workers as YSRCP supporters and terminating them unjustly is wrong, he said, warning that it jeopardizes families and that employees will retaliate if unfairly treated.

He further charged the government with failing to abolish the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS), not providing unemployment allowances, and misleading the Governor by claiming 4 lakh jobs created. Chandrasekhar warned that unresolved employee issues would trigger YSRCP-led protests and demanded immediate action on Anganwadi workers’ legitimate demands.
