Chandrababu’s massive corruption in land allotments

Tadepalli/Palasa, July 28: In a scathing attack on Chief Minister, YSRCP leaders, former Minister Seediri Appalaraju and former MLA Malladi Vishnu, criticized Chandrababu Naidu for orchestrating a massive corruption scandal by allotting prime government lands worth thousands of crores to benamis and private entities, notably the Lulu Group, at negligible rates.
Speaking at YSRCP offices in Palasa and Tadepalli, they stated that Chandrababu’s actions reflect a blatant misuse of power, plundering public assets for personal gain.
Appalaraju claimed Chandrababu is running a “real estate business” under the guise of governance, citing land allotments in Visakhapatnam (13.74 acres worth over Rs. 2000 crore) and Vijayawada (4.15 acres worth Rs. 600 crore) to the Lulu Group for shopping malls at just Rs. 1.50 per square foot for 99 years. This, they argued, would cause a staggering loss of over Rs. 3000 crore to the state, with Visakhapatnam alone facing a Rs. 2100 crore deficit. Vishnu demanded the immediate withdrawal of the related GOs, condemning the lack of a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) and the swift allocation following a single letter from Lulu Group Chairman Yusuff Ali on January 17.
The leaders highlighted additional questionable allotments, including 30 acres in Visakhapatnam to Satva Developers and Kapil Group for IT projects, 1200 acres in Kurnool to TG Vishwaprasad, linked to Pawan Kalyan’s film “Harihara Veeramallu”, at Rs. 15 lakh per acre against a market rate of Rs. 1 crore, and five power projects to Chinta Green Energy, tied to Chandrababu’s associate Navayuga Company. Appalaraju also criticized the allocation of 2000 acres to ArcelorMittal at Rs. 51 lakh per acre with lenient payment terms (Rs. 450 crore upfront, rest in installments), despite the company being brought to the state during Y.S. Jagan’s tenure. Ursa Clusters, a un-known firm, was allotted land at 99 paise per acre after a quick registration, raising doubts about its financial capacity. Vishnu pointed out that the Vijayawada land, part of the struggling RTC’s Governorpet Depot, would exacerbate traffic chaos on Bandar Road and harm the RTC’s recovery prospects.
Chandrababu engaging in “give-and-take” deals, with money changing hands covertly, and warned of growing public discontent, with surveys indicating opposition to 90 MLAs within a year. Appalaraju suggested Chandrababu’s confidence stems from potential EVM manipulation, enabling unchecked land allotments. Contrasting Chandrababu’s tenure with YSRCP’s achievements, they credited Y.S. Jagan for bringing companies like Infosys, Adani Data Center, and Amazon to Andhra Pradesh and Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy for laying the foundation for Visakhapatnam’s IT growth. The allocation of prime lands to real estate firms like Satva and Kapil under the pretext of IT projects was labeled unprecedented in India. YSRCP vowed to fiercely oppose these allotments, with Vishnu emphasizing that the party would not tolerate actions causing financial loss to the state. The leaders urged the public to demand transparency and hold the government accountable for what they described as a shameless looting of Andhra Pradesh’s resources.
