Tadepalli, September 11: YSRCP has affirmed that the coalition government has put the state on sale by pursuing the privatization policy and slammed the TDP ministers for trying to misguide the people by showing fake pictures to justify its decision to put hospitals in private hands.
Speaking to media here on Saturday, former minister Seediri Appalraju said they will fight the privatization move tooth and nail unless the government rolls back its decision and he slammed Home Minister V Anitha for her power point presentation showing fake pictures and other ministers justifying PPP model shamelessly.
He described PPP as pay per project and giving away hospitals to private parties is steeped in corruption and all such anti-poor decisions would be reversed after YS Jagan Mohan Reddy returns to power and said that Chandrababu has been known for his privatization policy and has been pursuing it by giving away, medicare, roads, tourism department to private players for kickbacks.
Putting all infrastructure in to private hands shows the inefficiency of the government and its greed for kickbacks, he said and questioned as to where did the Rs 2.15 lakh crore loans raised go and the vindictive nature of Chandrababu who refused to take the offer of seats to Pulivendula medical college.
The other medical colleges initiated by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy have been going into private hands and we will not allow this to happen, he said adding that the fancy names of privatization like PPP, disinvestment and Swiss Challenge only show the deceit of the coalition.
He criticized the ministers who went on to defend the PPP model stating that such a move will keep quality medicare and medical education away from the poor. This seems to be trial run after medical colleges, tourism department and roads it will be extend to all infrastructure making the role of governance irrelevant, he said.
Chandrababu did not bring in a single medical college and wants to give away the hospitals to his favoured few on a platter as he had given prime land in Vizag at throwaway prices. Replacing Aarogyasri with insurance model also distances quality medicare from the poorer sections, he said adding that retaining Aarogyasri would benefit the government as the premium to be paid is less than the annual expenditure on the health scheme. He has been taking claim for Nellore and Padmavati Medical colleges and Rajahmundry medical college is shown in bad light by the Home Minister during her presentation, he said.
YSRCP will fight it out till the privatization move is reversed, he said.
