*YS Jagan welcomes new entrants, assures support to document writers*

Tadepalli, July 29: YSR Congress Party President and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday welcomed several leaders into the party and assured full support to document writers facing hardships due to recent government policies.

Retired Sub-Inspector V. Jayakumar from T. Narasapuram in the Polavaram Assembly constituency and leaders from the Ponnur Assembly constituency, Mandava Goutham and Mandava Lakshmi Neeraja, joined the YSRCP in the presence of Y.S. Jagan. Welcoming them, he expressed confidence that they would strengthen the party at the grassroots.

A delegation of the New Andhra Motor Truckers Association (NAMTA) later met Y.S. Jagan and explained the problems arising from the Next Generation Vahan (Parivahan) system and Automated Testing Stations (ATS). They said new owners who legally purchased vehicles were being forced to clear pending cases, challans and blacklists linked to previous owners before accessing transport services. They also said the ATS system had increased the cost of fitness certification to nearly Rs 20,000 per vehicle. Y.S. Jagan assured them that the YSRCP would raise these issues in the State Legislature and Parliament and press both the State and Central Governments to ensure a fair and transparent transport administration.

Representatives of the Andhra Pradesh State Document Writers Welfare Association also met Y.S. Jagan and urged him to press the State Government to withdraw G.O. No. 396. They said the proposed Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model for registration service centres would threaten the livelihoods of document writers, stamp vendors, DTP operators and their assistants, affecting nearly five lakh people across the State.

After hearing their concerns, Y.S. Jagan assured the delegation that the YSRCP would stand firmly with document writers and work to ensure the withdrawal of G.O. No. 396 to safeguard their livelihoods.
