*YSRCP warns MLA Bonda Uma over remarks against Brahmins, Vysyas*

Tirupati, August 9: Former Deputy Speaker Kona Raghupathi warned Vijayawada Central MLA Bonda Uma to change his intimidating and disrespectful conduct towards Brahmin and Vysya communities or face a strong public movement. Speaking with former MLA Malladi Vishnu after a Brahmin community meeting in Tirupati, he demanded that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu immediately act against the MLA.

Raghupathi said an elected representative should conduct himself with dignity instead of resorting to threats, personal abuse and displays of arrogance. He questioned Bonda Uma’s attitude towards Brahmins despite nearly 47,000 voters from the community being present in Vijayawada Central. He said YSRCP would stand firmly with Malladi Vishnu and would not tolerate threats or personal attacks against him.

Malladi Vishnu said the coalition government had neglected Brahmin welfare for the past two years. He demanded restoration of the ₹10,000 assistance under the Garuda scheme for funeral expenses, action on hereditary priesthood and protection of low-income temples. He also sought completion of nearly 700 proposed Vedic appointments in TTD and greater respect and support for Vedic scholars.

Vishnu said Brahmin welfare would receive specific priority in YSRCP’s forthcoming manifesto, including assistance for marriages, Upanayanams and funerals. He said YSRCP, under Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s leadership, would continue fighting against the suppression of peaceful protests and for people’s rights.
