YS Jagan holds govt responsible for tribal girl’s murder

Tadepalli, June 8: Former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy held the ruling coalition government, led by N. Chandrababu Naidu, directly responsible for the brutal murder of a tribal girl studying Intermediate in Anantapur district.
In a strongly worded statement posted on social media platform X, YS Jagan expressed deep anguish over the horrific crime and slammed the government’s complete failure to protect women and girls in the state.
“There is no safety or security for women and girls in Andhra Pradesh anymore. The daily rise in such brutal crimes is a clear reflection of Chandrbabu's failure in maintaining law and order,” YS Jagan said.
Referring to the case of the minor girl, he stated that her parents had lodged a missing complaint with the police on June 3. Yet, the government failed to act in time to save her. Six days later, her dead body was discovered near Brahmanapalle in the Kuderu mandal.
“This is nothing but a total collapse of the system. What were the police doing after receiving the complaint? Why didn’t the government take it seriously? Despite receiving a complaint six days earlier, why was no action taken?”YS Jagan questioned.
He condemned the government's focus on vendetta politics and enforcement of the so-called “Red Book Constitution” instead of ensuring public safety. “Does this government even care about people’s lives and protection, or is it only interested in distractions and revenge tactics?” he asked.
Demanding justice for the victim, YS Jagan said the Chief Minister and the government must take full responsibility for the failure that led to this horrific murder.
