A vote for Jana Sena is a vote for TDP

Amaravati: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and former Chief minister late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s daughter YS Sharmila addressed the media at the party office here on Monday.

She highlighted the fact that Pawan Kalyan was an actor who worked under the direction of Chandrababu Naidu. A vote for Jana Sena is a vote for TDP, with whom Pawan Kalyan has a secret pact.

YS Sharmila pointed out that Andhra Pradesh was going through a very critical phase and that the upcoming elections would determine the course of the state’s future. YS Sharmila said that she was speaking not just as Dr YSR’s daughter, but as a common citizen of the state.

As a common citizen the question she had for everybody was, “whether any development had taken place over the past 5 years, and if any industries had been set up? Is the farmer better off? Are poor students in a better state today? What is the condition of AP which had prospered under Dr YSR?” she asked.

She questioned whether the farmer felt empowered today as he did under Dr YSR and if he was given minimum support price (MSP) for his crops? She had similar questions with regard to the state of Arogyasri which had been completely watered down, as also fee reimbursement of the students which was totally neglected by the Chandrababu Naidu Government.

In contrast she pointed out that Dr. YSR had provided governance free of discrimination of any kind, caste, religion, region or even political affiliation for that matter.

Chandrababu Naidu has only pushed the state back by 25 years in his term beginning in 2014. He promised loan waivers as the very first assurance to be carried out, but did not deliver on it.

The amount of farmers’ loans stood at over Rs 87,000 Crore, but Chandrababu finally slashed the figure to around Rs 24,000 Crore as a token measure of loan waiver. She added that Chandrababu was only driven by hunger for power as such actions reveal.

The case of loan waivers for DWCRA women was no different, she pointed out. YS Sharmila said that it was none other than Chandrababu’s cabinet colleague Paritala Sunitha, who admitted in the state assembly, that loan waivers of DWCRA women had not been carried out, and that the government had no intention of waiving their loans.

Loans of DWCRA women which stood at Rs 14,000 Crore now rose to Rs 25,000 crore she observed, and added that Chandrababu Naidu was now indulging in a fresh exercise of deception in the name of Pasupu Kumkuma with an amount of Rs 6,000 crore.

YS Sharmila cited the instance of Polavaram project as a classic case of Chandrababu Naidu’s corruption. The estimated cost of the project was hiked from Rs 14,000 Crore to over Rs 60,000 crore, she remarked.

She pointed out that all this was done for kickbacks and to award contracts on a nomination bases to handpicked contractors in violation of regulations. Chandrababu Naidu had promised to complete the project in 3 years. “Why hasn’t he completed it as yet?” she questioned.

YS Sharmila also referred to Amaravati as another major scam in which the TDP supremo’s proxies and some leaders benefited. All that Chandrababu has to show today is 3D graphics and designs from Singapore planners as if local architects and engineers were not competent enough.

She said that she would like to pose direct questions to Chandrababu Naidu as a common citizen. Has a permanent building been constructed in Amaravati?

Chandrababu came to power riding the slogan of ‘Babu will bring jobs,’ but the only person who seemed to have got a job is his son Nara Lokesh who was given three portfolios despite the fact that he has zero political experience and has not won a single election.

As for the unemployed poor of the state, they continue to languish without jobs, and the government has not issued any notifications. Chandrababu made his son IT Minister probably because Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao‘s son KTR was made IT Minister in the neighbouring state.

In trying to compete with Telangana the TDP Govt claimed that it had attracted Microsoft to AP, but the IT Giant denied this completely, exposing the hollow claims of Chandrababu and Lokesh.

The IT Minister of AP transferred sensitive information relating to citizens of the state including the number of women and their bank account details, to a private company. What has Chandrababu Naidu’s response? YS Sharmila pointed out that instead of punishing the culprits, the AP chief Minister was shamelessly protecting them.

YS Sharmila also lambasted Chandrababu Naidu for making a series of u-turns over the issue of special category status (SCS) for AP. He had earlier threatened those who demanded SCS to the state and had even arrested leader of Opposition in AP assembly, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the Visakhapatnam Airport when he went there to stage a protest demanding SCS.

Chandrababu Naidu had settled for a special package instead of SCS and had in fact questioned the status of such states which were given SCS. It is no Sanjeevini, or magic cure, the AP Chief minister had said then.

In fact, he made every effort to crush the movement led by YSRCP and was forced to make a u-turn only after the YSR Congress Party took up protests on a massive scale. She reminded media persons that it was YSRCP which moved a no confidence motion against the NDA government and all its MPs In the Lok Sabha had also resigned in protest demanding SCS to AP

YS Sharmila said that Chandrababu Naidu has turned AP into a debt-ridden state and has not fulfilled a single one of his 600 election promises from 2014. Instead he comes up with a fresh manifesto now, she pointed out adding that Chandrababu's welfare schemes were drawn only to help him cling to power.

Self-praise does not take a leader anywhere she said. Claiming to be honest, does not make one honest. The empty boast does not change the reality of the situation she said.

Chandrababu Naidu was all along with the BJP and has now begun to sing a new tune in the company of Congress, she said. YS Sharmila pointed out that it was Chandrababu Naidu who stabbed his father-in-law NTR in the back.

It was the same Chandrababu Naidu who described agriculture as a wasteful activity and ridiculed the promise of free power to farmers.

YS Sharmila recalled that YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy went through a lot over the last 9 years. Because he is a leader who stands for values he has remained committed to the people of the state and their progress, she said.

YS Jagan knew that he was going to be implicated in false cases if he left the Congress party since he had been threatened by party bigwigs on this, but he chose to go ahead because of his commitment to the people. Unlike Chandrababu Naidu, YS Jagan did not encourage defections.

He undertook a 3,648 KM long Padayatra across the length and breadth of the state and gained a deep insight into the suffering of the masses under the TDP regime.

Chandrababu Naidu claims that he has more than 40 years of experience, but this is mainly in deception, corruption, backstabbing, character assassination and politics of murder among other things she said and also made a mention of several political murders which took place under Chandrababu Naidu.

What did the TDP supremo do when one of his MLAs, Chintamaneni Prabhakar, assaulted a lady officer and dragged her by her hair for opposing his sand mining activities?

Chandrababu rewarded the MLA with the Denduluru constituency ticket once again she pointed out. YS Sharmila described Pawan Kalyan as an actor who followed every single instruction given by his director, Chandrababu Naidu.

He did not say a word about the Data Theft scam she pointed out. She also questioned on why he was silent on the issue of a third party investigation into the murder of her uncle YS Vivekananda Reddy.
