Vijayasai Reddy Writes To CEC Over Counting Process

Hyderabad: Rajya Sabha MP and YSR Congress National General Secretary Vijayasai Reddy expressed apprehensions over the possibilities of Telugu Desam Party deliberately causing hindrance during the counting of votes at the designated centers.

He wrote a letter to the Central Election Commission (CEC) seeking stringent measures in handling the ruling party's interference. The YSRCP MP sought for the Central Reserved Police Forces to be deployed at the Counting Centres and also implement Section 144 to avoid law and order issues.

Mentioning the possibility of the ruling party agents forging 17-C forms, Vijayasai Reddy asked for criminal action be taken to such activities.

He further said that the Election Observers should be physically present in the respective counting halls prior to the counting else there is a chance of the ruling party agents pressurizing the Returning Officers.

Vijayasai Reddy also requested the EC to complete the recruitment process of the counting agents at the earliest as the approval regarding the YSRCP counting agents may be delayed deliberately. Also, the YSRCP MP urged for Steel Barricades be put up along with the mesh near the EVMs in all the counting halls to avoid any hurdles for the counting agents.
