TDP conspiraces to disrupt YS Jagan’s Tirupati visit

Tirupati, July 7: Former TTD Chairman Bhumana Karunakar Reddy has stated that the coalition government, led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh, orchestrating a conspiracy to disrupt YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s visit to the Bangarupalyam mango market in Puthalapattu constituency, Chittoor district, on July 9.
Speaking to media at his camp office, Bhumana stated that TDP MLAs, including local MLA Muralimohan, under direct instructions from Chandrababu and in Nara Lokesh’s presence, have been incited to obstruct YS Jagan’s visit and create law-and-order issues. He condemned the TDP for politicizing YS Jagan’s effort to support distressed mango farmers, who are grappling with 1.70 lakh tonnes of unsold produce while only 1.05 lakh tonnes have been sold to pulp factories. Bhumana described these actions as an attack on YS Jagan and a declaration of war against YSRCP, urging the district police to ensure adequate security for the visit, emphasizing their responsibility to maintain peace.
He highlighted that during YS Jagan’s tenure as Chief Minister, mango farmers received a stable price of Rs. 22 per kg, preventing protests, unlike the current government’s failure, which has left farmers dumping mangoes on roads or cutting down orchards. Bhumana criticized Chandrababu for not securing central support, unlike Karnataka’s procurement of 2.50 lakh tonnes at Rs. 16 per kg, and for the lack of transparency in the promised Rs. 4 per kg subsidy. He accused the government of harassing farmers with fines and false cases through the forest department. Bhumana demanded that the government treat the mango crisis as a disaster, provide compensation for unsold produce, and focus on farmers’ welfare instead of political conspiracies.
He clarified that YS Jagan’s visit aims to assure farmers, not mobilize crowds, and warned that TDP’s attempts to disrupt it would be seen as an attack on farmers’ welfare, with YSRCP leaders ready to counter their allegations.
