Tadepalli, June 1: Massive protests erupted across Andhra Pradesh against the irregularities in DSC-2025, the teacher recruitment examination conducted by the Chandrababu Naidu-led coalition government. Responding to a call given by the YSRCP Youth Wing, large numbers of unemployed youth and party leaders gathered at district collectorates across the state, expressing outrage over what they termed a “DSC scam” and demanding a comprehensive CBI investigation into the recruitment process.
Protesters stated that the government manipulated rules specifically for the Sports Quota teacher recruitment process, issued special government orders solely for the examination and later withdrew them, and enabled widespread abuse of the quota system. They claimed that even individuals with no genuine sporting credentials managed to secure certificates and benefits, while deserving candidates were sidelined. The aggrieved youth further alleged that teaching posts were sold to those who could pay, undermining merit and fairness in public recruitment.
The demonstrations witnessed significant participation across all districts, including Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, Anakapalli, Konaseema, Kakinada, West Godavari, Eluru, Vijayawada, Krishna, Guntur, Bapatla, Prakasam, Nellore, Tirupati, Anantapur, Sri Sathya Sai, Annamayya, Kurnool and Nandyal. Protesters submitted representations to district collectors demanding an impartial probe into the alleged paper leak, quota manipulation and recruitment irregularities. In several locations, participants raised slogans against the government and accused it of betraying unemployed youth by turning the much-publicised “Mega DSC” into a “Fraud DSC.”
Tensions were reported in some districts where police prevented rallies and demonstrations. In Visakhapatnam, YSRCP leaders and youth activists were stopped from entering the Collectorate premises, leading to heated arguments with the police. In Bapatla, protesters alleged police excesses after officers reportedly obstructed the rally and seized the keys of students who had arrived to participate in the protest.
Across the state, protesters unanimously demanded a CBI inquiry into the alleged DSC-2025 scam and called for the immediate resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh, holding him accountable for the irregularities. They asserted that the recruitment process had shattered the aspirations of thousands of unemployed youth and demanded that those responsible be brought to justice.
