Misuse of police for political vendetta

YSRCP Legal Cell State President Manohar Reddy
Tadepalli, Feb 14: YSRCP Legal Cell State President Manohar Reddy strongly condemned the misuse of the police force for political vendetta. He stated that the arrest of Vallabaneni Vamsi has exposed a malicious conspiracy, with the police being used as a tool for political revenge.
Citing the case of Vamsi, he pointed out that the FIR copy was given to his family only after he was arrested and presented in court. This clearly indicates an attempt to ensure that Vamsi remains in custody without immediate legal recourse.
Manohar Reddy said that TDP leaders are dictating the police on whom to arrest, how to investigate, which sections to impose, and even deciding on witnesses. He warned that if the constitutional principles enshrined in the Red Book are not upheld, public outrage will be inevitable.
He highlighted a recent incident about the High Court expressing serious displeasure over the handling of CCTV footage issue. The authorities presented a misleading narrative in court, claiming that the footage was damaged due to monkeys, which the court did not accept. Despite strong reprimands from the judiciary, the police have failed to change their approach.
He further stated that filing false cases will ultimately backfire on the police themselves. He reminded them that power is never permanent in anyone’s hands and urged them to act lawfully.
