Minister Sandhyarani must be sacked immediately

Visakhapatnam, Nov 28: Former MLA Kottugulli Bhagyalakshmi demanded the immediate dismissal of Women & Child Welfare Minister Gummadi Sandhyarani and the arrest of her PA Satish for sexually harassing a woman employee in Parvathipuram Manyam district. Speaking at the YSR Congress Party office in Visakhapatnam, she said the incident reflects the complete collapse of women’s safety under the 18-month coalition government. She condemned Minister Sandhyarani for protecting her PA despite his threatening and inappropriate messages to the victim. She also held Home Minister Anita equally responsible for failing in her constitutional duty to safeguard women.
Bhagyalakshmi criticised the coalition for enabling a surge in atrocities against women. She cited the illegal sealing of Uma’s Jyoti Laboratory in Anakapalli for opposing the Bulk Drug Park, the assault on an Anganwadi helper in Sri Sathya Sai district, and the sexual assault of a minor girl in Kavali—incidents where ministers remained silent. She said rampant belt shops, unchecked liquor flow, and ganja distribution encouraged by the ruling party are directly fuelling these crimes.
She noted that women’s safety measures like the Disha app and Disha police stations—strengthened under Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy—are now neglected. Accusing the government of abandoning tribal welfare and misusing the Red Book for vendetta politics, she warned that if action is not taken against Satish and errant ministers, the YSR Congress Party will launch statewide protests.
