Tadepalli, May 28: Former Minister Perni Nani has strongly condemned the Chandrababu government for falsely implicating YSRCP leader Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy and his brother in the Palnadu double murder case, labeling it a grave injustice driven by political vendetta. Palnadu SP has confirmed both the victims and perpetrators in the Gundlapadu double murder on May 24 were TDP activists, with the crime rooted in a dominance struggle between two TDP factions in the village. Despite this, an FIR was filed against the Pinnelli brothers, with no evidence linking them to the YSRCP or the crime.
“The SP stated that the murders were committed by TDP members. Not a single accused has ever held a YSRCP flag or voted for our symbol. How can the government justify naming the Pinnelli brothers in the FIR?” Nani questioned, pointing out that the vehicle used in the crime was linked to TDP MLA Julakanti Brahma Reddy, who even inaugurated the accused’s new car.
The TDP government orchestrated a pattern of false cases against YSRCP leaders to suppress opposition, citing the misuse of police machinery to harass rather than maintain law and order. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has a history of betrayal, including against NTR, and warned that similar disloyalty awaits Naidu from his son, Lokesh, who he claimed is poised to seize control of the party and the CM’s chair. “Naidu builds palaces worth hundreds of crores in Hyderabad, Kuppam, and Amaravati, but where are his sisters? Why don’t they step into his home for housewarming ceremonies? This speaks volumes about his character,” Nani remarked, emphasizing a lack of familial trust.
Government’s selective enforcement while atrocities against women and Dalits in places like Pithapuram go uninvestigated, the state machinery is quick to probe cinema theaters when it concerns Pawan Kalyan’s films. “The government claims ignorance about theater bandhs until a producer raises the issue, yet it fails to address rising crimes against women and children. Where is the state’s intelligence? The police are being used solely to target YSRCP leaders,” Nani asserted. Nani also highlighted the irony of the TDP government continuing YSRCP’s policies on cinema regulations while criticizing them, questioning their integrity: “If our decisions were wrong, why implement them for a year? Where is the shame in targeting theaters before Pawan Kalyan’s movie release?
