Rajamahendravaram, June 8: YSRCP National Spokesperson and former MP Margani Bharat has demanded that the Andhra Pradesh government continue medical treatment for the two children who were hospitalized after consuming adulterated milk and bear all their medical expenses until they fully recover.
Speaking to the media along with the affected families at the YSRCP office in Rajamahendravaram, Bharat said it was inhuman for the hospital management to pressure parents to take the children home or bear future treatment costs themselves. He reminded that the Collector and ministers had earlier assured that the government would provide free treatment to the victims until their recovery. He demanded reimbursement of all expenses already incurred by the families.
Bharat alleged that government negligence was responsible for the tragedy and noted that 16 people had died after consuming adulterated milk in Rajamahendravaram. Even four months after the incident, the government has not revealed what contaminated the milk or explained the cause of the deaths, he said.
He pointed out that five-month-old Ruhaniya has been battling for life for four months, while another child, Ritwik, also continues treatment. The affected families have already spent lakhs of rupees and cannot afford further expenses, he said.
Bharat demanded immediate government intervention, continuation of treatment, reimbursement of costs, and financial support for the children's future medical needs. He said YSRCP would stand by the victims and, if necessary, approach the courts to secure justice for the affected families.
