Tadepalli, Dec 29: YSRCP has slammed the coalition government for its misuse of police force to foist false cases against political adversaries and the inhuman treatment being meted out.
Speaking to media here on Monday, Party Legal Cell President S Manohar Reddy said, cases were registered on YSRCP cadre for celebrating birthday of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and following the local traditions by sacrificing sheep and poultry which is not new.
The same was followed when Chandrababu Naidu won, during the pre-release events of Pawan Kalyan and N Balakrishna and it went along with the tradition, but this time around the police under the directions of Chandrababu have been selectively picked up YSRCP cadre and had foisted false cases and meted out harsh treatment which goes against the human rights, he said.
The cadre were beaten up, put in lock-up, paraded to the magistrate’s place and were intimidated by threatening with false cases of ganja if they reveal about their treatment when produced before the magistrate.
There is a Supreme Court ruling that the accused or even the guilty should not be paraded or their pictures taken or published failing which the police would face serious consequences. This was gone by and the police have been ill-treating YSRCP cadre. They have been booking them under Prevention of Cruelty against Animals Act and Indian Arms Act which is highly objectionable.
The law and order has deteriorated and the State stands at the 36th place under the coalition government and its policy is bound to slide further.
