Resorts to diversion politics
East Godavari / Parvathipuram, June 9: Former Home Minister Taneti Vanitha and former Minister Pamula Pushpa Srivani launched scathing attack on the coalition government, accusing it of abandoning its responsibility to protect women and diverting public attention from its failures through political gimmicks.
Speaking to the media at Nallajerla, Taneti Vanitha criticised Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha for remaining silent on brutal crimes against women and children. From the murder of a college girl in Anantapur to the rape of a minor by ruling party members, she said there has been no meaningful action or even a statement from the Home Minister. Instead of ensuring safety, Anitha appears focused solely on political criticism of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Vanitha noted.
In Parvathipuram, Pushpa Srivani slammed the unlawful arrest of senior journalist Kommineni Srinivasa Rao, calling it an undemocratic attempt to silence dissent and distract from governance failures. She said the government is targeting opposition leaders using the so-called "Red Book Constitution" and manipulating narratives by falsely linking journalist comments to YSRCP and its leadership.
Both leaders accused the coalition of orchestrating a political conspiracy against YS Jagan and YS Bharathi by misusing unrelated media debates. They condemned past derogatory remarks made by TDP leaders against YSRCP women leaders and questioned why no apologies or action were ever taken.
They also criticised the dismantling of women's safety measures like Disha police stations and the Disha app, resulting in a spike in crimes. "This government has no sincerity towards women’s safety or public welfare. Failing to implement even one promise from its ‘Super Six’ manifesto, it is hiding behind diversion politics," said Pushpa Srivani.
They warned the ruling leaders that power is not permanent and urged them to focus on governance, not vendetta.
