*Concentrating development in one region gives rise to unrest*
Visakhapatnam, July 29: YSRCP has slammed the coalition government for stealing credit and concentrating development in one region, causing resentment among people from other regions.
Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, former Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao said that while YS Jagan Mohan Reddy initiated the Bhogapuram Airport project and secured all the necessary clearances, Chandrababu is publicising it as though it was executed by him and his government.
Right from land acquisition to laying the foundation stone and obtaining all the required permissions and clearances, it was YS Jagan Mohan Reddy who worked on the project. However, Chandrababu is now claiming credit as though it were his own achievement.
The scale of publicity being carried out by the coalition government shows the extent of its credit theft, he said.
He reminded that the airport construction is being carried out by private parties, while the logistical support is being provided by the Centre. The State government's responsibility was limited to land acquisition and obtaining the required permissions and clearances, all of which had already been completed during the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government.
He said it has become Chandrababu's habit to claim credit for work done by others and rely on excessive publicity, and this project is no exception.
Chandrababu has been concentrating all development in one region, and the resentment among people of other regions will eventually manifest itself in one form or another. Hyderabad, he said, is a living example of the consequences of such an approach.
He added that people are increasingly realising that the airport is not a development project on which the State government is spending money.
