Bhumana’s challenge on TTD Goshala cow deaths
14 Apr 2025 5:57 PM

Tirupati, April 14: Former TTD Chairman Bhumana Karunakara Reddy, demanded a thorough inquiry into the deaths of cows at the TTD Goshala and said that he would stand by what he has said and would not fear any threats as he has done no wrong.
Speaking to media here on Monday he asserted that TTD EO Shyamala Rao said that 43 cows had died while Chairman B.R. Naidu has said it was 22 cows that died and both contradict Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s claim that there are no deaths in the Gosala.
He challenged the authorities to prove that the photos of dead cows he released were morphed, swearing by God that they are genuine and offering to face any investigation. He accused the CM, EO, and Chairman of giving conflicting figures and failing to address the issue transparently, questioning their accountability.
He criticized the TTD administration for dismissing the deaths as old-age-related though the photos he released were that of young ones and calves.
He refuted the claims of TTD and TDP propaganda, demanding the Chief Minister to order a probe. He accused TTD Chairman BR Naidu of threatening him with filing state-wide criminal cases, declaring his readiness to face legal action and even jail for devotees’ sentiments.
He emphasized YSRCP’s past contributions, including vigilance inquiries and programs like Dalita Govindam, while stating current mismanagement, such as expired medicines used on cows, inadequate animal feed, and failure to sustain desi cow breeding initiatives.
He urged TTD to stop politicizing the issue and address the goshala’s mismanagement.
