Tadepalli, May 3: Reiterating that Chandrababu Naidu is once again at his old game of cheating farmers in the name of Amaravati, YSRCP has said it is his wild goose chase going for the impossible and impractical goals only to fool people and make money in the process.
Speaking to the media at multiple locations on Saturday, the Party spokespersons said, there is no need to put all the concentration exclusively on Amaravati, as there are other areas that need development and welfare measures to be implemented. It cannot be called a people’s capital when Chandrababu Naidu moved courts on the grounds of demographic imbalance, when YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has created the R5 zone to bring in all sections of people into the capital fold.
The Party is not against a world-class capital city coming up, but it is an impossible task given the geographical terrain, past track record of Chandrababu Naidu, and limited financial and natural resources.
The greed of Chandrabbau will push the state into an abyss of debt with high construction costs and a heavy concentration on Amaravati alone. Amaravati cannot be a People’s Capital when people were deprived of land on demographic grounds.
Ambati Rambabu said at Guntur that Chandrababu Naidu, who squandered away the golden chance of using Hyderabad as common capital for ten years and talking tall about the capital, has built three temporary structures by spending just Rs 5,585 crore against Rs 48,000 crore estimate and the Centre giving Rs 2,500 crore.
The contracts were given at highly inflated costs for kickbacks, and people can see through the game, with all welfare activity taking a back seat.
This time, it would be no different, though the Prime Minister and Chandrababu Naidu resorted to mutual praise for obvious reasons. The project is bound to fail, and farmers will be cheated again if Chandrababu Naidu’s asking for more land for the airport is of any indication, he said, adding that he failed to ask the Prime Minister for grants, sops announced in the Reorganisation Act.
Sake Sailajanath, speaking at Ananthapuram, has warned the government not to play with the sentiments of the people, and Amaravati is not the lone place to focus on. Rayalaseema and North Andhra cannot be neglected at the cost of Amaravati, adding that it is not his family affair.
Chandrababu has proved record of not fulfilling promises and financial indiscipline, as he had shown graphics and promised to build a Singapore in Amaravati and miserably failed. The question of the reconstruction of Amaravati does not arise as there was no construction in the first place. Despite having 34,000 acres on hand, he is asking for more land only to deceive people, as there is no account for the Rs 1.54 lakh crore loan he has taken so far.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was not invited in the manner that suits his stature as being the leader of the sole opposition Party and Chandrababu should learn from him about finances, as he has introduced reverse tendering, which saves good money to the exchequer, he said.
Jupudi Prabhakar Rao told the media here that while YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had created the R5 zone to make Amaravati accessible to people from all over the state, Chandrababu moved court through his people and filed 26 petitions on the grounds of demographic imbalance. The case went up to the apex court, and after the coalition took over, the GO issued by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was scrapped, which shows whether it is a demographic imbalance or an imbalance of democracy.
