YSRCP Calls Statewide “Annadatha Poru” on Sept 9
08 Sep 2025 4:52 PM

Tadepalli, September 8: The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) will organize a massive statewide agitation on Tuesday, September 9, under the banner “Annadatha Poru” to protest the artificial urea shortage and black marketing that has severely affected farmers. Acting on the call of YSRCP President and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, party cadres and farmer associations will hold peaceful protests in front of all RDO offices and submit representations demanding strict action.
Across the state, farmers are being forced to wait in long queues for urea, while traders under the patronage of ruling coalition leaders are diverting supplies into the black market. Farmers allege they must pay up to ₹200 extra per bag or buy pesticides to get fertilizers. The YSRCP accused the ruling coalition of looting farmers of over ₹200 crore through black market operations. Even when farmers seized trucks carrying illegal urea, no action was taken against culprits, exposing the government’s complicity.
The YSRCP has demanded immediate steps to stop black marketing, supply fertilizers at MRP, restore free crop insurance, provide input subsidies in rain-affected areas, and ensure Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for all crops.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s dismissive and threatening remarks on the crisis have drawn sharp criticism, with farmers expressing outrage. With nearly 40% of farmland left unsown this season due to fertilizer shortage, the government’s failure to plan and review agricultural needs stands exposed.
Farmers are openly comparing the present misrule with the previous YSRCP government, which implemented crop insurance, timely subsidies, doorstep fertilizer supply, Rythu Bharosa, and the Price Stabilization Fund to protect them. Now, with rising anger and disillusionment, farmers are preparing to join the Annadatha Poru in large numbers to hold the government accountable.
