Sharmila listens to unending tales of suffering

Sharmila, who is doing
Maro Praja Prasthanam Padayatra on behalf of YSR Congress Party president Y.S.
Jagan Mohan Reddy, has been coming across the tales of untold suffering from all
walks of life during her walkathon.

While the aged complain
about their not getting monthly pensions or the sick talk about their not
getting medical treatment under the Arogya Sri scheme at some place, it is
farmers who complain about their not getting free power for their lands or MSP
(Minimum Support Price) for their agricultural produce at some other place.

The list of people who
meet Sharmila and narrate their suffering doesn’t end with women or farmers but
students and others are also joining the list of people who have a tale each to
reveal.

When Sharmila camped at
Pattikonda on Sunday, 10-year old girl Rasi and her brother Surendra came to
her camp. Local party men immediately took them to Sharmila who was moved after
learning that they had to stop their school education due to their poor
financial condition.

“Our father was killed
in faction feuds and our mother is working in a private hospital. We are A grade
students but we had to stop going to school due to our inability to pay fee. Mother is unable to run the house with her meager salary,” they told her weeping.

Sharmila consoled them
and assured them she would take care of their school education. “Don’t worry, I
will ensure you will complete your school education,” Sharmila promised them.

However, party leaders
of Pattikonda constituency Nagaratnamma and Ramachandra Reddy and Puttaparthi
constituency party leader Dr. Hari Krishna, who were present there, assured
Sharmila they would take care of the two kids’ school education.

“I made a promise and
kindly don’t neglect the children,” Shamila told the leaders handing over Rasi
and Surendra to them.
