TDP sell-out, says YSRCP

Press Release

Hyderabad, December 7: Describing as a total sell out, the absenteeism of
three TDP MPs in the all important voting against the FDI in retail sector in
Rajya Sabha, YSR Congress has said, such decisions have only helped UPA to win
which once again brings to the fore the tacit understanding it has with
Congress.

“The influence of CBI has been undercurrent in the voting pattern and TDP
which has participated in the bandhs and morchas against FDI in retail sector,
skipping the House during the crucial vote clearly shows that N Chandrababu
Naidu has been favouring Congress both at Centre and State as well,” Party
senior leader Dr MV Mysoora Reddy told reporters here on Friday.

As the margin was very low, TDP should have ensured that all the members
voted in favour of the motion moved by opposition which could have turned the
tables. With BSP and SP leaders facing CBI charges and N Chandrababu Naidu
going all out to protect the Congress government at the Centre shows that the
politics of manipulation prevailed over the politics of ideology.

TDP President allowed three members to keep away from the voting and openly
telling that he will not move a no-confidence motion in the State shows that he
has been protecting Congress t the Centre and the State.

Senior Congress member N Janardhan Reddy, who is seriously ill, was brought
in a wheel chair while one TDP leader skipped voting on medical grounds. This
shows that the two parties have been working in tandem and the manipulative
politics that have come into full play, he said.

All five members of TDP could have sailed with Opposition motion against
the 51 per cent FDI in multi-brand retail but it has shown its true colours as
the motion was defeated by 109 to 123 votes, he said adding that TDP has to
take responsibility for all the consequences arising out of the foreign
investments in the country at the cost of domestic produce, he said.
