Describing ruling Congress and main opposition TDP as sinking boats, YSR Congress on Saturday said the parties are jittery ahead of by-polls as their base is eroding fast.
“Chief Minister and Congress president failed to draw crowds and had to bring in recording dancers to hold the public while TDP is spending more on liquor at Kovur,” party spokesperson GattuRamachandra Rao told reporters here.
On International Women’s Day there were dances that belittle the dignity of women at a platform where the Chief Minister was to speak and he did not even convey his apology to the women for the goof-up. Being an import, he has lost contact with people, he said.
“I demand the State Government to publish a white paper on the welfare schemes it has taken up along with the ones implemented during YSR term and the by-poll verdict can be seen crystal clear,” he said.
Congress and TDP leaders are using a language that does not match the stature they are holding, as they have developed a Jagan phobia ahead of the by-elections.
The results of March 18 by-polls will reflect on the ensuing elections to 17 assembly seats which will set the pace for the 2014 battle, he said adding that the principal parties will be vying only for the second spot all through.
Stooping to new low in its electioneering, YSRC candidate N Prasanna Kumar Reddy is being described as a turncoat. The PRP members have won the election on anti-Congress ticket; if they are to merge with the opponent they should resign and seek a fresh mandate as our candidate is doing.
“He quit TDP for a cause and he is seeking a fresh mandate. Even YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was offered posts and lured by the Congress but he sought a fresh mandate and won with a thumping majority. His majority was described as a home turf advantage. What happened to the home turf of Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Congress won only two of the ten assembly segments in RaiBareilli and Amethi,” he said.
